Distribution of breakfast in schools on an experimental basis: Vellore Mayor’s study

On a pilot basis, breakfast was prepared and transported to primary schools in Vellore and distributed to the children. This was investigated by Mayor Sujata Anandakumar.

The program to provide breakfast to students studying in government primary schools will be launched on Thursday (September 15). In the first phase, this scheme is to be launched in 1,545 schools across Tamil Nadu.

Arrangements have been made to provide breakfast to 3,469 students studying in 48 government primary schools in Vellore Corporation. On this occasion, smart kitchens have been constructed at 3 locations in Gadpadi Gandhi Nagar, Sathuvachari and Kaspa to prepare breakfast.

At this stage, a preview was held of taking and serving snacks in vehicles from the kitchens. 19 primary schools in the 3rd zone of the Vellore Corporation were given breakfast on Wednesday morning.

For this, venpongal was prepared from the kitchen near the administration office and transported to 19 primary schools in the 3rd zone by vehicle and 241.100 kg of food was served to 1,541 children.

Mayor Sujatha Anandakumar observed and inspected the trial of breakfast in Masilamani Middle School, Vellore.

After examining the quality of food, the procedures of preparing it and serving it by vehicle, he said that the program of providing breakfast will be implemented in all the primary schools in the corporation after the inauguration by the Chief Minister. During the inspection, Corporation Commissioner P. Ashokumar and Corporation officials were present.
