“This is the most racially and gender-diverse parliament this country has ever seen,” Starmer, 61, said in his speech before travelling to Washington for the summit of the I’LL TAKE.

According to the Library of the House of Commons263 women, 41%, are part of the new Parliament, out of a total of 650 members.

Likewise, a total of 90 deputies of the new Parliament belong to ethnic minorities, compared to 66 in the 2019 elections.

The Labour Party won a landslide victory in the general elections on Thursday and will have 411 MPs, compared to 121 of the conservativeswho left the government after fourteen years in power.

Starmer He promised to “end a policy that has too often appeared self-centered and self-serving.”

“We all have the duty to demonstrate that politics can be a positive force”, he added.
