Diwali should be celebrated in a safe manner without accidents. Tirupattur District Police Superintendent Brindu Balakrishnan advised.
Only eco-friendly green crackers should be sold and burst as per the court order. Firecrackers should be burst only for 2 hours between 6 AM to 7 AM and 7 PM to 8 PM. Do not make, use or sell loud crackers.
Do not burst or sell Chinese made firecrackers. Do not burst firecrackers carelessly in public areas. Avoid grenade blasts. Explosives like rockets should not be exploded in slum areas and near high-rise buildings. Children should have fireworks under parental supervision. Children should not be allowed to burst firecrackers alone without safety equipment.
But don’t explode near livestock. Parents and teachers should sensitize children about fire accidents and explosions caused by unsafe use of explosives.
Citizens should follow the guidelines given by the police, take precautions and cooperate with the police and celebrate Diwali safely, safely and happily in an environmentally friendly manner. It says so.
