Baghdad – WAA
Diyala Football Team will hold its preparatory camp in Erbil Governorate tomorrow, Monday, during which it will hold friendly matches as part of its preparations for the Iraqi Premier League competitions, which are scheduled to start during the current month.
Diyala football coach Sadiq Hanoun said in a statement to Al-Sabah newspaper, followed by the (INA): “The Erbil preparatory station comes as a complement to the previous steps in which training units were intensified 10 days ago, which aim to raise the physical level through iron exercises, in addition to distributing tasks among the players.”
Hanoun confirmed that “his team will play two friendly matches in the Erbil camp, against Al-Kahraba and Al-Najaf, in order to see the players’ level and the extent of their tactical and mental response before entering the league competitions,” noting that “the training teams usually look for technical stability during these preparatory stops, in order to correct and modify the curricula and increase the training doses.”
Hanoun explained that “the reason for the delay in the joining of professionals is due to administrative matters, as it is scheduled that the Nigerian professional Benjamin Akor and the Brazilians Bentale and Toto will join the camp in the coming days,” noting that “the administrative body was keen to provide all the requirements for the success of the training staff’s work and overcome difficulties, which led the team to win the Premier League title for the past season 2023-2024 and ensure qualification to the stars of Iraq.”
