Djinn | Disruptions and injuries since the start of the film; Many said not to name ‘jinn’: Siddharth Bharathan

by time news

Djinn is a film directed by Siddharth Bharathan starring Soubin Shahir. Director Siddharth and screenwriter Rajesh Gopinathan weave a chain of hilarious events that created that name. They told these interesting stories in an interview given for the promotion of the film. This is yet another in the list of various superstitions in Malayalam cinema.

Many people forbid the names of extraterrestrial forces to be used in movies. It is believed that the same forces will interfere in the film in various ways and create obstacles. There will be what is commonly known as the Junior Mandrake Effect.

Even before the shooting started, some people were making up stories related to it. It was widely popular. The film ran into various crises to make those stories believable. Covid is the first obstacle. And some other hiccups in production. The propagandists of the story will soon appear as if you didn’t see it, didn’t we say it then? Anyway, it took three years to complete the film. Jinn, which started shooting on one Christmas day, is releasing on another Christmas after three years.

Director Siddharth Bharathan says that many people would have interpreted the minor hiccups and minor injuries to people as Jinn’s intervention in the shooting location. Many advised against going ahead with the name as soon as it was decided. Some came up with a list of various tragic events that happened in previous movies with such names. It was argued that the only solution is to change the name to prevent such things from happening. There are people who go to astrologers to find solutions. Siddharth said that the decision was to release the film with this name no matter what the crisis. The producers also stood by us.

But things were not in anyone’s hands. The plague that was thought to be gone, Kovid struck in second and third waves. The film was left unfinished. Despite the completion of the film, there were no crises. The release was scheduled several times but all of them changed due to various reasons. Even when Siddharth Bharathan’s film Chaturam started shooting after Jinn, Jinn did not see the light of day. Actors were also worried that a beautiful film that had been shot after a lot of work was not released. Jinn is Girish Gangadharan’s best camera work. Amazing performance by Soub. Siddharth said that everyone is in trouble because of such things.

Jinn believers first reacted when a minor accident happened to a person who was carrying a hard disk of the movie. On the same day he bought the hard disk, the screenwriter of the film fell on the shuttle court and got injured. With that many people started to get scared.

Finally, after the film was decided to release on December 30, Siddharth suffered a minor injury. While trying to get into the car, when he opened the door, it came and hit him on the forehead, injuring him. Siddharth still has a scar on his forehead that hasn’t healed. He thinks that the accident happened due to his carelessness. But Siddharth Bharatan said that Jinn believers do not think so. Many began to advise him to be careful.

The tail end of the film was shot in Chennai. After that, screenwriter Rajesh Gopinathan was preparing to return home. Meanwhile, someone gave him a t-shirt with Jinn written on it. At the airport, the fellow traveler asked if he wanted to board the plane with this t-shirt on. Rajesh laughed at the look on his face whenever the plane hit the air turbulence. He brought that t-shirt and still keeps it at home. Rajesh said that nothing happened.

Some believe that jinn is both good and bad. They also think that we can see it only when it enters another body. It can be seen as animal or human. Such scenes appear in the film in a surreal manner. It is natural to have crises in cinema. If you connect it with superstition, there will be time for that. I am happy that the film has overcome all the hurdles and is hitting the theaters. Rajesh Gopinathan said that all such incidents related to the name of the film are seen as an interesting experience.
