Djokovic: online hearing started late – ANSA

by time news

(ANSA) – MELBOURNE, 10 JAN – The online hearing between Novak Djokovic’s lawyers and the Australian authorities has begun to allow the tennis superstar to stay in Melbourne and chase the tenth Australian Open title. The legal battle started late due to a technical problem. Djokovic’s lawyers will have to prove the validity of the Serbian’s vaccine exemption after he contracted covid last December. But for the Australian government, Covid infection is not a sufficient reason to obtain medical exemption and Novak Djokovic has not provided further clear evidence of a contraindication to the vaccine.
