Defeat of the Murcian 6-3 and 6-2 in an hour and a half

MADRID, 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, number 1 in the world ranking, won this Saturday 6-3 and 6-2 against the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the ATP Finals, which are being held in Turin (Italy), and exhibited his experience to access the final match for the title of ‘master’.

After an hour and a half on the hard court of the Pala Alpitour, the current tournament champion barely gave the brilliant talent from Murcia a chance. In this way, Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner in the grand final, after the Italian has beaten Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-3, (4)6-7 and 6-1 in the other ‘semi’.

Not in vain, Alcaraz wasted two break balls as soon as the duel began and paid dearly for it, as his rival became emboldened and broke in the eighth game (5-3). The Balkan consolidated his advantage immediately, on serve and at love, thus adding the first set to his locker.

Although the Murcian started the second set well, he gave up his serve in the third game (1-2) and his opponent smelled blood. With 4-2 up, the one from Belgrade saved two break points and prevented Alcaraz from re-engaging in the match, although he had the favoritism of the stands there.

Without any problems, the ‘teacher’ defending the title broke again in the seventh game (5-2) and then sealed the victory. At 36 years old, and recently crowned best tennis player of the season for the eighth time in his career, ‘Nole’ will look for his seventh ATP Finals win this Sunday against Sinner.
