jpnn.comJAKARTA – Discussion of the Draft Law on the Special Region of Jakarta (RUU DKJ) is still ongoing.

One of them is that the government agrees that the chairman and members of the Agglomeration Zone Council be appointed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Responding to this, presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan said that the new, more specific DKJ Bill should be able to solve Jakarta’s problems.

“In my opinion, what is important is not just who is assigned or appointed or elected, but how this bill solves the problems in Jakarta,” said Anies in Depok, West Java, Friday (15/3).

He reminded that Jakarta still has a multitude of problems, including land and land issues.

“There are land issues, for example the Kampung Akuarium case, the Bukit Duri case, now also the case in Kampung Bayam,” he said.

According to him, the authorities possessed by regional heads must be ensured to be able to resolve problems like that.

“Because in Jakarta there is a gap between the authority of the central government and regional governments,” he said.
