Dmitry Medvedev: “The decision against Putin will have serious consequences”

Against the background of the decision of the International Court of Justice in The Hague to issue an arrest warrant against the President of Russia, Vladimir Putinsaid today (Monday), the deputy chairman of the Security Council in Russia, Dmitry Medvedev on his Telegram channel that: “The ‘criminal’ decision against Putin will have serious and cruel consequences for international law, as it is the collapse of the foundations and principles of law.”

Medvedev added that the reputation of the court in The Hague is already low: “The most defamatory scene, which killed the reputation of the court, which was already close to zero, is related to the crimes of the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq, where the absolute impotence of the court was fully exposed.”

The official stressed: “All the stupid decisions of the UN and other bodies will collapse. The dark twilight of all international relations will come. Trust is exhausted.”

As you may recall, the International Court of Justice in The Hague issued an international arrest warrant against Putin for war crimes, and it was said that he is “allegedly responsible for the illegal deportation of hundreds of children from Ukraine, and their annexation from the occupied territories to the Russian Federation.” In Moscow they rejected the accusations and said that the move was “unacceptable”.
