Even after the DMK came to power, some of the dissidents joined the BJP. In the districts where the Annamalai tour went, DMK and Vinar are joining the BJP.

To prevent the growing influence of Annamalai, the party leadership has embarked on the process of pulling back those who left the DMK. KU Selvam was rejoined DMK. Following him, Saravan, who was the president of Madurai Metropolitan District BJP, has also been asked to resign.
