Municipality officials said the heavy smoke from barbecuing fish and meat would cause inconvenience to those in nearby flats and many may not like the pungent smell. Smoke can cause headaches and drowsiness.
Villas should be equipped with a smoke exhaust system when burning in the traditional way. It is not safe to light a fire while sleeping because it is cold. As a result, deaths have been reported in many places, officials said.
