Keep Your Snack Time Safe: Beware Viral Chinese Crackers!
Attention snack lovers! A serious warning has been issued about several viral snacks from China known as "la tiao."
These crunchy treats, popular online and carried directly from China, have been linked to a growing number of food poisoning cases across Indonesia. Sadly, many of the victims are young children.
This outbreak has worried Indonesia’s Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM). They’ve discovered a nasty bacteria called Bacillus cereus lurking in four popular brands of la tiao.
This bacteria can lead to some pretty unpleasant symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and in severe cases, even shortness of breath.
Think twice before snacking! BPOM urges everyone to steer clear of these crackers until the investigation is complete. If you have any la tiao at home, toss them out!
Remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Your health is worth more than any viral snack sensation.
Here are the four brands that have been flagged:
- C&j Candy Joy Latiao
- Luvmi Hot Spicy Latiao
- KK Boy Latiao
- Lianggui Latiao
Stay healthy and snack smart!
