Tomorrow, Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 p.m., don’t miss my conference talk “Why do they tell me I’m late if there’s no time?”, moderated by Mónica Salomone (CNIO), a journalist specializing in science, at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum (Barcelona). It is part of the Explícamelo activity organized by The Conversation Spain. The conference will be in Spanish; the price of the conference includes admission to the Museum’s exhibitions (more information on the website).

«The time is gold is a phrase that invites us to make the most of our time. But what is time? Is it true that time is relative? Can you travel through time? Is an astronaut younger than his twin? What exactly is a watch? Why is a person looking at the clock looking at himself? In this talk, the physicist and doctor in Mathematics Francisco R. Villatoro will talk about the nature of time according to physics. Time in Newtonian physics was absolute, but the physics of light revealed that time is relative. Einstein’s theory of relativity allows time travel into the future, but prevents travel into the past. Time is what clocks measure, but physics confronts us with the problem of building clocks in the first moments of the cosmos. Francis Villatoro and Mónica Salomone will answer these and many other questions in a collaborative session in which you can take advantage of your time asking questions and actively participating.
