New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday put a stay on bulldozer action. The Supreme Court said that no action should be taken without our permission. The next hearing of this case will be on October 1. However, the Supreme Court also said that this order will not apply to illegal construction. Also, guidelines will be issued soon after hearing all the parties.
The court said that no property will be demolished by bulldozer anywhere without its permission till October 1. The court also clarified that this order will not apply to public roads, footpaths and any unauthorized construction. During the earlier hearing too, questions were raised by the Supreme Court on the bulldozer action.

During the hearing today, the Supreme Court directed the states to stop glorifying Bulldozer Justice. Remove encroachments only under the legal process. Earlier also, during the hearing, the Supreme Court had made strong comments on Bulldozer Justice.
The court said that the government officials doing this is like ‘destroying the law’ of the country. The Supreme Court said that involvement in a crime cannot be the basis for demolishing someone’s property. It is the court’s job to decide whether the accused is guilty or not. On September 2, the Supreme Court had made a similar comment and talked about making guidelines to stop bulldozer action.
