Do registration and visitation lead to better outcomes of nephrological care?

by time news

Within Nefrovisie, two new studies have been started that received a subsidy from ZonMw. Both projects aim to determine to what extent registration and visitation contribute to a better quality of nephrological care and ultimately to further strengthen this care.

The first study focuses on the application of outcome information in the quality cycle of hospitals and is entitled ‘Outcome information for quality improvement’. Nefrovisie recently sent out a survey to the management of Dutch dialysis centers for the project – which is being carried out together with several other quality registrations. This is followed by in-depth interviews with the centers that have registered. The hope is that good practices from nephrology will emerge from this.

The second study was launched in collaboration with the seven Santeon Hospitals and is called ‘Showcase nephrology’. The idea behind this is that the quality system within nephrology can serve as an example for other fields. Therefore, a description is first given of the registration and visitation (organized by Nefrovisie) and the learning and improvement system and dashboard with which patients can view their results (developed by Santeon). In addition, various analyzes are carried out in the project by a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Willem Jan Bos.
