Indian fast bowlers have been plagued by injuries in recent times. Former Indian captain Kapil Dev advised fast bowlers to do this to avoid injury.

Indian fast bowlers such as Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar, Harsal Patel and others are continuously injured and unable to participate in the matches, and have been absent from time to time. Jasprit Bumrah has been undergoing treatment, mainly due to a back injury sustained during the series against England last year. Also, Mohammed Shami is recovering from a shoulder injury and is currently playing.

Bumrah, Jadeja, Deepak Chahar not playing in T20 World Cup due to injury!

The Indian bowlers have been dealing with a series of injuries for the past 12 months. Mainly there are fast bowlers. India’s star bowler Bumrah has missed out on the 2022 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup after sustaining a back injury mainly in the pre-Asia Cup series against England.

Ravindra Jadeja also missed the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury sustained in the Asia Cup match against Hong Kong. And in Bumrah’s absence due to fitness issues, India played the T20 World Cup with young players without Deepak Chahar.

This problem affected the Indian team in the T20 World Cup semi-final match. The Indian team failed to lose a single wicket and lost by 10 wickets, leaving the team without going into the finals.

Jadeja and Bumrah were excluded from the team!

As the 2023 ODI World Cup approaches, Bumrah, India’s star bowler, has been absent from the Indian team. Although Bumrah’s name was included in the series against Sri Lanka, he was later dropped from the squad as he was not fully prepared.

Bowlers only bowl 30 balls- Kapil Dev

Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has said that the reason why Indian bowlers keep getting injured is because of non-stop matches. He said, “Currently, the players have been playing matches for more than 10 months. The more you play, the more prone you are to injury. Actually playing cricket is not an easy task. You play on different pitches, hard and soft, cold and hot pitches. Your muscles should be able to work appropriately for all situations. Then you get injured,” he said.

Also, what Kapildev has to say about what to do to avoid injury, “What can they do to avoid injury? If bowling is the best solution for that, if they are careful about it, they can keep their fitness level. Nowadays bowlers are allowed to bowl only 30 balls in net practice. That is also a cause of injury. So you should practice bowling a lot, the more you practice the more your muscles will start to get stronger. In an environment where that doesn’t happen, when you play international matches under pressure, injuries become a way for you,” he said.
