The government has announced that it is going to give a gift of Rs.1000 to the ration card holders for the upcoming Pongal festival in Tamil Nadu. Here is a method to check if you can get this benefit too.
Pongal Gift:
Government of Tamil Nadu is giving Pongal gift to the people every year through ration shops so that all public can celebrate Pongal festival well. There was a lot of expectation among the people about the gifts that the government will give for the 2023 Pongal festival. In this case, the Chief Minister has announced that from January 2, all rice card holders and the families of Sri Lankan Tamils living in residential camps will be given 1 kg of sweet rice and sugar along with Rs.1,000 as a Pongal gift.

The government has announced that the amount which is usually given directly in the hands of the people will this time be paid into the bank accounts linked to the Aadhaar card. In the research conducted for this purpose, it has been found that 14,84,582 people in Tamil Nadu have not linked their bank account number with Aadhaar number and those who have bank account have been advised to link it with Aadhaar and those who do not have bank account have been advised to open zero balance account in cooperative banks.

Instructions:
- First, go to https://bit.ly/AadhaarSeedingStatus.
- It will open a page where you can verify that Aadhaar and bank details are linked.
- In it, you have to post your Aadhaar number and captcha and enter the OTP that comes.
- The screen will show which bank account number is linked with your Aadhaar. Your Pongal gift of Rs.1,000 will be deposited into this bank account.
- If no details are shown on that screen, we have to go to the bank where we have our account and register the Aadhaar number. Government will pay into this account.
- Also, if another bank’s account number is registered in Aadhaar, payment will be made to that account.
