There is an uproar in India after the release of the Hema Committee report on sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry. There have been allegations of rape and sexual harassment against several famous stars including Malayalam film actor Siddiqui, director Ranjith Balakrishnan. This time, actress Kangana Ranaut sparked a discussion by commenting on the heroes of the Bollywood film industry.

‘Do you know how heroes harass women?’

Kangana gave an interview to News18 a few days ago. While talking about women’s safety in society and Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut said, ‘Do you know how heroes harass women? They invite them (women) to dinner, send messages, ask them to go home.’

Kangana Ranaut said when the topic of Kolkata’s rape and murder case came up, ‘I was threatened with rape. We know that we do not respect women. Our film industry is no different. The way a college student comments on girls, film heroes are no exception. We know how women are treated in the workplace.’

Kangana’s latest released movie is ‘Tejas’. It was released on October 27 last year. This movie with a budget of 70 crore rupees failed. It earned only 5.5 crore rupees at the box office.

Kangana is currently working on ‘Emergency’ and an untitled movie. Kangana played the role of Indira Gandhi in the movie ‘Emergency’. This actress also directed it.
