The use of paracetamol tablets during corona infections has been a record. Paracetamol is a popular painkiller and is usually prescribed by doctors to be taken when fever-body aches occur. As paracetamol tends to be considered the safest drug, people need to be aware of its side effects.

There is no harm in taking the dosage as advised by the doctor. However, previous research has shown that daily use of it in high doses can be life threatening. Studies have shown that taking it daily increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke.

Research experts have advised that people at risk for heart attack and stroke should consult a doctor when taking paracetamol.

Experts from the University of Edinburgh conducted this research on patients with high blood pressure. 110 patients with hypertensive problems were included in the study.

Patients were given paracetamol tablets four times a day for two weeks. On examination four days later it was found that the blood pressure of these patients was significantly increased. Due to high blood pressure, the risk of heart attack in these patients is increased by 20 percent.

Data show that one in 10 people in the UK take paracetamol daily for chronic pain. It is also worth noting that one-third of adults in the UK suffer from high blood pressure.
