Chennai: It is difficult to get a place to play in urban areas, Cricketer Ashwin has said that if there is an opportunity to meet Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin in person, he will appeal to the students for a place to play.

The number of people coming to play cricket from urban areas is decreasing and now more and more people are coming from rural areas to play cricket. It’s hard to find a place to play at the moment. Currently the work is being done through the academies. All measures are being taken to bring children from rural areas.
Not only we should take the initiative but the government should also take action. Chennai does not have enough ground facilities for youth and students to play cricket. “If I get a chance to appeal to the Sports Minister, I will appeal,” he said.
Responding to a question about the ban on online gambling, Ashwin said, “Do you want the truth..or the headlines? If online rummy is banned then don’t play it. I don’t play it. There is no gambling in cricket online games. It is a “game of skills”. So it is not gambling. I will tell you,” he said.
