A doctor at the Livorno hospital is under house arrest for alleged sexual assault against patients; the doctor has also been suspended from practice for a year.
Maximum secrecy on the entire affair followed with the investigations conducted by the NAS of the Carabinieri of Livorno. The investigation is subject to maximum discretion. The ASL Toscana nord ovest, the health company that the doctor depends on, and also the Order of Physicians to which he is registered, were reportedly informed in recent days by the Livorno judiciary of the measure against the doctor. Regarding the investigations, according to rumors, everything started from the written complaints of some patients, addressed to the management of the department that together with the ASL then notified the competent authorities and collaborated with the latter to verify what was declared.
