As a doctor’s assistant at the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Clinic, you are part of a close-knit and flexible team of skilled, enthusiastic and driven colleagues.
The function
As a doctor’s assistant you are the calling card of the outpatient clinic. You are the connecting link between patient and medical specialist and you have a lot of contact with patients. You are the one who speaks to the patients first and provides important information on the phone and behind the counter. You also work closely with the doctors. In short, you are a real centipede.
What else do you do? You prepare and support the consultation hours and the outpatient treatments. You provide information and instruction regarding examinations and treatments, both by telephone and at the desk. You guide patients before, during and after examinations and/or minor procedures. In addition, you assist during outpatient procedures such as skin tumors, minor hand surgery and minor corrections.

Working at the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Clinic
The Plastic Surgery specialism is a versatile field that consists of general plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, hand surgery and cosmetic surgery. The outpatient clinic is characterized as a dynamic, innovative and future-oriented department and is in full swing. Support is given to the Plastic Surgery department consisting of 5 plastic surgeons. The Outpatient Plastic Surgery works closely with Dermatology, Oncology Center.
Our team consists of 7 doctor’s assistants, 3 breast care nurses, 2 outpatient nurses, 2 medical secretaries, the head of the outpatient clinic and the plastic surgeons. For more information about us, see: https://www.rijnstate.nl/specialismen/plastic-surgery/
What do you bring
- Doctor’s assistant diploma with relevant work experience, preferably in a hospital.
- Affinity with plastic surgery and aesthetics.
- Experience with an automated appointment system preferably with Ezis/HIX.
- You have a positive and active attitude to work with good social and communication skills.
- You have a heart for care.
- You are organizationally skilled and development-oriented.
- You actively seek solutions and take initiative.
- You are flexible and you are a real team player.
- You are stable and you are able to respond to different situations.
Rijnstate offers you
- Conditions of employment and salary in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Hospitals.
- FWG 40 (€ 2,134 / max. € 3,160 based on full-time employment). Grading depends on education and experience.
- An employment contract of 28-36 hours for a definite period (12 months).
