Doctors demand the resignation of Dr. Hugo López-Gatell

In this vein, even the medical journal The Lancet announced that Mexico was the country with the most deaths from Covid-19 among health personnel.
On the other hand, according to The universal, there is a group of residents who held a meeting with senators to discuss the current state of their union. Among their complaints it was accused that Hugó López-Gatell represents the true “health cartel” that has dismantled the sector and therefore demanded his resignation.

They also assure that he is one of those responsible for the current shortage of medicines. While they indicate that he is one of those responsible for the dismissal suffered by several doctors throughout the country. For this reason, they threatened to start several demonstrations in public spaces so that their complaints can be heard.
With this in mind, they denounced that the promise of achieving a “health system like Denmark’s” is far from being a reality. They added that even the situation of residents inside hospitals is looking worse and worse. Abuse and exploitation continue without someone doing something.
