And according to “Russia Today,” it came in a publication of the association, including the opinion of doctors that “infection that can be transmitted through unprotected sex leads to cirrhosis of the liver and cancer, which has become the most common type in many parts of the world.”

“Alcohol can cause chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis or scarring, as well as cancer,” says Dr. Rodrich Schwartz, director of the Center for Liver and Pancreatic Diseases in Roswell Park. “There are more deaths from liver disease and failure than from cancer.”
He continued, “The risk of developing liver cancer increases when drinking alcoholic beverages on a regular basis.” But we usually say, alcohol is bad for the liver and not a cause of cancer.”
