DECRYPTION – After the failure of conventional negotiations, some practitioners could be tempted to break all ties with Medicare.
The arm wrestling hardens between the doctors and the Secu, after the failure of the conventional negotiations. While the medical unions have all refused the Medicare project to increase the price of the consultation by 1.50 euros (or more but in return for new constraints), some are brandishing the threat of deconvention.
This is the case of the vibrant union UFMLS, which organizes Friday and Saturday in Paris the first “assizes of deconvention”.
A double-edged measure. If a doctor decides to opt out, he breaks all ties with Medicare and can charge the rates of his choice.
But with the big inconvenience that his patients are no longer reimbursed by Social Security: the consultation with a non-contracted doctor is covered on the basis of 0.61 euro; on the other hand, the services he prescribes (paramedical care, medication, transport) remain reimbursed under the usual conditions.
