It’s a documentary Mama – Africanos em São Paulodirected by Rafael Aquinoex-funder of the Academia Internacional de Cinema (AIC), was selected for it 13ª Mostra Ecofalante de Cinema. O filme, resultado do curso de Documentário da AIC, destaca a vida de Diamou Fallou Diopknown as Mama África, a Senegalese woman whose history reflects the cultural diversity of African peoples in São Paulo, influencing migratory flows in the city and in Brazil.
Além da Mostra Ecofalante, the documentary was selected for other 12 global festivals, including it Spotlight on Academics Film Festival in Canada, Ethnografilm Paris and França, eo Kinoforum Festival Internacional de Curtas-metragens de São Paulo.
Rafael Aquino expressed his gratitude for the selections of the film: “Esta sento emotive termos o documentário selected for 13 festivals, sending 2 deles internationales (France and Canada) of academic and ethnographic character and in Brazil poder participar da programming de Mostras renomadas como Ecofalante eo Kinoforum. Besides important shows for black cinema like OJU in Sesc São Paulo and Encontro de Cinema Negro Zózimo Bulbul in Rio de Janeiro.”
During the course at AIC, the students were trained in screenwriting, production, photography and editing techniques. Rafael emphasizes the importance of support from academia: “What we learned along the way was placed in practice in all stages of the conception of the work. O feedback dos professores na exhibición do primeiro corte e todo o incentivo que foi given durante o processo de produção, nos deu a seguranha necessáli para conclusir o documentaryário. Ainda mais que tínahamos nas mãos uma grande responsabilidade em trabalhar com uma personaggio tantão potenta como a Mama e fazer uma approach de forma sensível e responsabile em torno de putas delicas como o racismo ea imigração. “
