Guatemalan is the author of the documentary Feathered Serpent
He Feathered Serpent documentary feature film narrates the experiences of the naturalist and anthropologist Ricky Lopez who joined his voice with those of other people, including archaeologists, historians, musicians and international biologists, with whom he has carried a message about the importance of promoting nature conservation.
The road has been long, since in 2014 he began developing this project, which took him 5 years to complete. Thus, in 2018 he launched his documentary at international festivals and the following year, the official premiere in Guatemala and Mexico.
What is it about?
According to the synopsis of this production, the Quetzal has survived throughout the centuries, from its mythological symbolism, to continue with the species that inhabits the cloud forests of Mesoamerica and Central America.
That is why Serpiente Emplumada gathers the knowledge of more than 20 people, including archaeologists, historians, musicians and international biologists who share their opinions on the mysticism and sacred meaning of the most important deity in the Mayan and Mexica civilizations.
The feature film has the support of several talents, some of them internationally recognized, including Salma Hayek, a Mexican film actress who does the voice in off to tell part of the story. Also in the production are Daniel Lopez Toriello and Oscar winner for Technical Achievement, David Stump.
