The Vale do Javari Indigenous Land, on the Brazilian border with Colombia and Peru, is home to the largest concentration of uncontacted indigenous people in the world and keeps traces of the murders of the indigenista Bruno Pereira and the British journalist Dom Phillips, in June last year.

It is the attempt to fill the gaps in this story told by the journalist Sônia Bridi in the documentary “Vale dos Isolados: O Assassinato de Bruno e Dom”, which premieres on the Globoplay platform.

The film is part of a project that brings together 16 media and organizations from ten countries, including Sheet.

The documentary shows Bruno’s friends, indigenous and non-indigenous, returning to the scene of the crime, searching for their belongings. The findings, in cell phone memories, include some of the last images recorded by the indigenista and the reporter before they died.

These files, unpublished for the general public, were discovered by the Federal Police from the material handed over by the volunteers during the searches.
