A three-car-wide sinkhole opened up on Radcliffe Avenue in the Morris Park neighborhood of the Bronx borough of New York, following heavy rains that fell last night (Monday). Documents aired on local TV stations show a white pickup truck flipping over on its left side and then diving into the huge hole.

The owner of the van told reporters instead that he was not worried. “I’m fine,” he said. New York City has begun repairing the sinkhole today, and the New York Department of Environmental Protection is investigating the cause of the road collapse, according to Department spokesman Edward Timber. Meanwhile, the van was lifted from the pit and placed back on the road, the owner got in and managed to drive it.
