by time news

An IDF delegation participated this week in a parachute demonstration in Bahrain to mark two years since the Abraham Accords. In the delegation – about 40 paratroopers from four different countries: Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Israel.

The members of the Israeli delegation were received at a welcome ceremony, and held meetings and talks to strengthen cooperation between the armies. The delegation went out under the leadership of the commander of the depth command and the military colleges, Colonel Itai Virov, and with the participation of the chief infantry officer and paratroopers, Brigadier General Guy Levy and the commander of the Airlift Brigade, Colonel Gil Elia. The visit took place at the initiative of the Israeli embassy in Bahrain and in the presence of the Israeli ambassador and the American ambassador in the country.

“During the last three days we engaged in strategic discussions, analyzing the situation and drawing up plans for cooperation going forward,” said General Itai Virov, “two years ago such a meeting was nothing more than a far-fetched imagination or a dream. The thought that we would sit like this naturally and discuss as partners, open up knowledge and create a platform for cooperation was unacceptable.”

“We had the great privilege to mark together two years of the Abraham Accords in a military discourse and a joint parachute”, added General Virov, “first and foremost each of us is loyal and serves his country and its unique needs, but it seems that the common space where the ambitions, needs and common interest come together is large and valuable. During these meeting days, we took another step forward and the historic agreement is making skin and tendons rise. We are happy that we were able to take part. This historic descent expresses the mutual commitment to exploiting the new opportunities created as a result of the agreements and the willingness to deepen and expand the vision of regional defense.”
