…Every time I traveled in the direction of Gabala or Sheki, I usually preferred the Muganli-Ismayilli road. But in December of last year, while in Sheki, it snowed heavily. Therefore, considering that the Gabala-Ismayilli road could be dangerous at that time, I had to go by the Agsu road while returning to Baku. A little after passing the gate, a sign on the left of the road, which was put up years ago and whose color has completely faded, attracted my attention. Apart from the color fading, the 3 letters of the two words “Good way” on the plaque have disappeared (photo is provided).
Although I was quite surprised by the state of this board, which marks the border of Ismayilli and Agsu regions, I did not go too deep. I thought that the Ismailis would probably do it soon when they saw it.

… 9 months later, I was again on the way to Sheki. Taking into account that extensive reconstruction works are underway on the Muganli-Ismayilli road, this time I had to go along the Agsu road.
When I passed Agsun and approached Girdimancha, the other side of the sign I talked about above, i.e. the opposite side, attracted my attention. Unfortunately, there too The letter “y” in the word “Ismayilli district” was missing (the photo is presented). When I returned two days later, I stood next to the sign and took a photo of both sides of it. As you can see from the photos, nothing has changed in 9 months. Again, the faded board and the unpleasant sight on both faces.
I wonder what the people who go this way and that way on this highway, where there is quite intense traffic, think when they see that board in a bad condition again and again. I’m not talking about foreign guests yet. This is a shame! As or who do they blame those who see this scene? That is, Ismayilli district administration is not aware of this?! That is, there was no one who criticized them?! I can say with certainty that since the Ismailli-Muganli road is being reconstructed, the people of Ismaili have been using the Garamaryam-Aghsu-Muganli road for at least the last year, of course, and they are still using it today. How can it be that the executive head Nahid Bagirov, who is said to come and go to Baku several times a week, does not see this condition of that board??? But don’t his deputies and other responsible officials of the region see that sad scene?! But what about the other officials who control that road and use that road?! Didn’t the officials who went on a business trip to Ismayilli district through that road for the past year or so?!
At the same time, how can those who have not seen such an obviously shameful plaque see the inertia, the arbitrariness of the officials, the indifferent and disrespectful attitude of the district leaders towards people’s daily concerns and problems in Ismayilli?! Personally, I am of the opinion that if the promotional board at the entrance of the district is in this condition, look now, what day is Ismayilli himself?! Most likely, those who see that board in this state every time have the same thought.

I don’t know what the Ismailis will think when they read these notes, but personally, I am very worried that if the situation continues like this, the other letters on the board will also disappear one by one, and thus the “Ismailli district” itself will disappear completely…
