The small dog, who was found in deplorable conditions, was fighting distemper, a serious illness that eventually got the better of him.

The sad news was spread on social media by animal activist Yenney Caballero, who gave everything, until the last moment, to save the furry animal’s life.

“I am comforted by having given my all to save your life. Your last hours were filled with love. Your end was not there, stuffed into that bag like garbage.”Caballero said.

The activist also took advantage of the tragic story to raise public awareness about responsibility and caring for animals. “Crossing the rainbow doesn’t mean saying goodbye forever, but until we meet again, rest in peace my little one.”part of Caballero’s message stated.

The animal protection organization also stressed the importance of sterilization as a preventive measure against abandonment and the proliferation of defenseless puppies that end up in the hands of irresponsible or perverse people.

“Keep on causing harm, because no one escapes divine justice. DOWN WITH ANIMAL ABUSE IN CUBA. ENOUGH OF SO MUCH CRUELTY”Caballero concluded.

As you may recall, the dog was found in a serious state of health inside the plastic bag in which he was abandoned, which, judging by the intention of the person who committed the cruel act, was destined to be his “grave.”

However, he was rescued in time and taken to the vet, leaving as consolation that, at least, he did not die in the worst possible way.

In recent times, animal cruelty has taken over the island, a situation that generates repudiation in the community.
