Beloved Dog Max Reunited with Owner After D.C. Dognapping Incident
Zaleena Ahmed, a resident of Washington D.C., was left distraught after her senior West Highland terrier, Max, was stolen during an evening walk. The incident occurred when masked bandits approached Ahmed, brandishing a gun and assaulting her before taking off with Max. Ahmed was left fearing for the worst, feeling that Max had been taken by a professional dognapping ring.
Ahmed’s despair turned to hope when she came across a news report from 2022, which showed the same masked bandits stealing another dog. This fueled her belief that Max’s abduction was not an isolated incident. Determined to find her beloved companion, Ahmed tirelessly searched for leads and received an outpouring of support from the community.
After days of uncertainty, Ahmed finally received the phone call she had been dreading. The detective informed her that they had found Max, but his tone suggested there may be more to the story. Max had been discovered by a D.C. resident named David Graham, who had been distributing fliers across from Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens.
