Heavy rains reported yesterday in El Salvador caused a tree to fall, which unfortunately fell on a dog shelter, killing two dogs at the time of its fall.
Animal Rescue Units, veterinary equipment and IBA operational elements arrived in Cuscatancingo rescuing 113 dogs, except for the two that lost their lives in the accident.
“We are going to completely rebuild the shelter, and everyone will receive veterinary assistance, food and all the care they need,” said Guillermo Hasbun, IBA’s honorary president.
“At the moment, there are around 115 animals in the shelter, of which 2 died, 7 were evacuated from the rubble, and the rest are being examined by our veterinarians. This evening we will evacuate them all together with Romeo Rodríguez and the Ministry of Public Works, and take them to a safe place,” added Hasbun.
