This ceremony will be organized as part of the cultural year “Qatar-Morocco 2024”, to explore the Berber jewelry of the Royal Palace, exhibited at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.

Visitors will be treated to a cultural and artistic experience, through musical exhibitions, and with the art of henna tattooing and will also learn about the beauty of traditional Berber jewelry, said a press release from the organizers.

The program of this event includes the opening of an oil painting by the Moroccan artist Otmane Belkadi, inspired by the particularity of traditional Berber jewelry.

As a reminder, “Years of Culture Qatar-Morocco 2024” opened in February with a special exhibition of Berber jewelry from the Royal Palace to the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.

This Collection, composed of 200 pieces of historical and cultural importance, represents the diverse regions and ethnic groups of Morocco, from the Atlas Mountains to the southern provinces.

Exhibited for the first time outside the Kingdom, this collection from the Palais Royal represents a unique window on Moroccan culture.

Open to the public until May 20, 2024, the said collection of silver jewelry, which constitutes an important part of the permanent exhibition of Oudayas of Morocco belonging to the National Museum of Ornament in Rabat, pays tribute to the artisans of exceptional pieces , in particular, the women who campaigned for the protection of this human heritage legacy.
