Doha Port is gearing up to become the country’s liveliest venue for maritime fairs, including the traditional Packer Competition. The first entertainment event is the Qatar Balloon Festival, which starts on the 19th of this month.
This will be followed by more celebrations and spectacles such as traditional packing competition, maritime events and fairs. The port, which was renovated in four years, opened last year ahead of the FIFA World Cup. The port became one of the main attractions for the fans who came to the World Cup.
8000 to 10000 visitors arrive daily. Four thousand visitors arrived in the first week of January.
