SOUTH TAPANULI, Waspada.co.id – Supporters of the Tapsel Regent Candidate, Dolly-Buchori, from the Independent route came to the office of Dolly’s Winning Team 9 on Jalan KH Ahmad Dahlan (Jalan Tonga), Padangsidimpuan City while carrying a banner that read, reject intimidation, Thursday (25/7) yesterday.
The masses claimed that a number of unknown persons (OTK) who came claiming to be Dolly Pasaribu’s successful team (TS) were wandering around visiting residents’ houses from door to door in the South Tapanuli (Tapsel) area.
They (TS siluman, ed.) brought a piece of paper with a letterhead that said Dolly, they met with the community supporters of Dolly Pasaribu, the independent candidate for Regent of Tapsel, in the past week.
Not only claiming to be TS Dolly when they first met the residents, these ‘Siluman’ TS also intimidated the residents. They threatened the residents who refused to sign the letter they brought, that they would no longer receive PKH, Bansos and other assistance from the government if they did not sign. This action caused fear among the residents.
Some Tapsel residents who are Dolly Pasaribu supporters, were trapped by this trick. After signing the letter, they realized that on the back of the letter there was a writing stating that they did not support Dolly Pasaribu as an Independent candidate. In return, these ‘Siluman’ TS gave cash with varying amounts, starting from IDR 50 thousand to IDR 100 thousand per person.
Ahmad Jiman Lubis, a representative of residents from Angkola Barat District, as well as Sukri Simbolon (Batangtoru) and Mirhan Pulungan (Sayurmatinggi), revealed this incident at the Secretariat of Team 9 of the Dolly-Buchori Winning Team, Jalan KH Ahmad Dahlan, Padangsidimpuan City. They expressed their concern over the dirty practices carried out by the ‘Siluman’ TS.
“We never thought that someone would be so cruel as to do something like this. They exploited the trust of the people for unclear interests. This is very detrimental and tarnishes the democratic process that we are undergoing,” said Ahmad Jiman Lubis in a tone full of astonishment to reporters, Thursday (25/7) yesterday.
The community supporting Dolly Pasaribu now hopes that the authorities will immediately follow up on the case and stop the actions of the ‘Siluman’ TS who have disturbed the residents. “We want justice and clarity, who is really behind all this,” added Mirhan Pulungan firmly.
The chairman of TEAM 9, Safruddin Ismail Lubis accompanied by Sagi Muliadi, Asril Siregar and others asked the supporters of Dolly Pasaribu-Ahmad Buchori, the prospective independent candidate for Regent of South Tapanuli in 2024 to be patient and not be tempted by bribes from the instigators.
“Let us guard healthy democracy and be consistent (stay in our stance) as Dolly’s supporters, we must avoid black campaigns and attempted bans. Guard independent candidate Dolly Pasaribu, we must guard her tightly until the Tapsel KPU in August,” said Safruddin Lubis. (wol/acm/d1)
