Nigar Dominguez, the wife of Azerbaijani boxer Alfonso Dominguez, who won a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, told İdman.biz about this.
She commented on Alfonso’s silver medal win in the French capital. According to Nigar, Dominguez’s performances in the 81 kg, 86 kg and then 92 kg weight categories were not easy:
“He trained every day and put in a lot of effort. I am very happy that Alfonso represented Azerbaijan twice at the Olympic Games and did not return empty-handed again. In fact, both he and we were expecting a gold medal. But it is good that he will return home safely without injuries.”
The wife of the only boxer in the history of Azerbaijan with two Olympic medals read the reviews written about Alfonso and said that they were bad: “He does not deserve these comments. After the fight, I read the comments on social networks and, frankly, I feel very bad.”
