Trump spoke at the convention Saturday night, hinting at a 2024 run. His speech was the key point on the second day of the US Student Orientation Conference. Trump’s speech continued one Friday night of DeSantis, who along with Trump is considered one of the potential 2024 GOP contenders.

Trump, while teasing his possible 2024 run, said Saturday he won the 2016 election, also claimed he won the 2020 election and said, “Now we might have to do it again.”

“If I stay home, if I announce that I do not intend to run for office, the persecution of Donald Trump will stop immediately,” Trump said later in the speech. “But that’s what they want me to do. And you know what? There’s no way I’m going to do it.”

Trump closed his speech by saying that with President Biden in office, his re-election slogan to “Keep America Great” is now obsolete. But, Trump said, “We will make America great again.”

As for the Democratic challengers: 30.3% of participants said California Gov. Gavin Newsom would be the hardest for a Republican to defeat; 13.6% said former First Lady Michelle Obama; 10.5% said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; 10.3% said Senator Bernie Sanders; 7.9% said Vice President Kamala Harris; 5.9% said Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Only 4.4% of respondents said President Biden would be the hardest Republican candidate to beat in 2024.
