The former president had announced on social media that he would soon be indicted

Former President Trump was indicted on Tuesday following allegations arising from Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s investigation into the assault on the Capitol that took place on January 6, 2021, according to Fox News Digital, a broadcaster close to the tycoon.

The Justice Department indicted Trump on four counts, including conspiracy to mismanage the United States, over his efforts to subvert the 2020 presidential election. The indictment filed Tuesday night in the third criminal case against the former president. The 45-page indictment claims that Trump, following his defeat in 2020, was determined to stay in power and carried out conspiracies that targeted a basic function of the US federal government: the national trial collection, counting and certification of presidential election results.

On Tuesday evening Trump announced, with a post on the social Truth, that Councilor Smith had ready a new indictment against him: I heard that the deranged Jack Smith, to interfere with the 2024 presidential election, will publish another false indictment of your favorite president, me, at 17 (23 Italian). Why didn’t they do it 2 1/2 years ago? Why did they wait so long? Because they wanted to put it right in the middle of my campaign.

A Trump spokesman compared the new indictment to 1930s Nazi Germany, the former Soviet Union and other authoritarian and dictatorial regimes, calling them anti-American.

the second federal indictment the former president faces as part of the Smith investigation. Trump, currently leading the Republican party’s 2024 presidential primaries, has already pleaded not guilty to 37 counts of alleged illegal possession of classified documents during his presidency. These charges include willful possession of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and making false statements.
