A New York grand jury investigating President Donald Trump’s role in a secret money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels voted to indict the former president on Thursday, multiple sources and the Trump’s lawyer.
Justice is seeking to determine whether the 76-year-old former Republican president was guilty of misrepresentation, a minor offense, or breach of campaign finance laws, a criminal offense, by having paid money to Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, just before her presidential victory in November 2016. For what purpose? So that she keeps quiet about a supposed extramarital affair 10 years earlier.
The indictment makes Donald Trump the first former US president to face criminal charges, even as he runs for the White House again.
