The board would not be able to exist without many small and large donations, according to the managing director of the board. Because more than 70 percent of the annual costs for maintaining operations would have to be financed by donations. Any help is therefore very valuable, summed up Conrad.
The group of Gießen savings bank seniors has existed since 1996. Its current 241 members are former employees of Sparkasse Gießen, the group reports in writing. For many years, the group has traditionally given something to those who are less fortunate in life. »Each member pays a small amount into a pot every year. From this, one or two donations are made for a good cause every year. So far, a total of 22,600 euros has been distributed to charitable organizations in the city and district of Giessen,” the statement said.
