BTS’ Jin Donates $68,100 to Support Underprivileged Youth in Busan Before Birthday
The globally renowned BTS member, Jin, demonstrated his enduring commitment to philanthropy by donating 100 million won (approximately $68,100 USD) to the Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society ahead of his December 4th birthday. This generous contribution will directly benefit underprivileged children and adolescents in Busan, South Korea, focusing on vital educational scholarships and support programs for young adults transitioning into independent living.
The Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society, a respected organization with an 80-year legacy dedicated to child welfare, announced the donation on December 3rd. According to the society, the funds will be allocated to programs aligned with its core mission of supporting vulnerable youth and fostering their well-being. This donation arrives at a critical juncture, enabling the organization to expand its reach and impact within the region.
A significant portion of Jin’s contribution will be directed towards a “Self-Sufficient Youth Support Program,” specifically designed to assist individuals aging out of institutional care. This initiative will provide essential resources to ensure a smoother transition to independent living, addressing a systemic need for enhanced support systems for this often-overlooked population. “This highlights a systemic requirement for enhanced support systems for individuals who no longer qualify for state care,” a senior official stated.
Considering Jin’s well-known passion for nurturing young talent, his involvement is expected to have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of young people in Busan. The Busan Namgwang Social Welfare Society expressed its gratitude, stating that the contribution would significantly strengthen its educational and community-focused objectives.
Beyond his philanthropic endeavors, Jin recently concluded the encore performance of his inaugural solo fan concert tour, “#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR,” on October 31st, further solidifying his status as both a captivating performer and a dedicated humanitarian. Looking ahead, BTS is anticipated to return as a complete group in the first half of next year, continuing their global musical journey. Their previous projects, including the critically acclaimed film BREAK THE SILENCE: THE MOVIE, have garnered international recognition and cemented their position as cultural icons.
