Patients and employees of the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf took part in a benefit rowing regatta on the Outer Alster on Sunday. More than 70 double fours should start, as a spokeswoman for the hospital said. The women’s eight of the rowing Bundesliga was also expected. The proceeds from the event should benefit an exercise program for cancer patients.

The “Rowing Against Cancer” regatta was organized for the twelfth time by the Living with Cancer Foundation in cooperation with the Hubertus-Wald Tumor Center and the Hansa Rowing Society. The patron was Sports Senator Andy Grote (SPD). The foundation also organizes regattas of this kind in Kiel, Lübeck and some other German cities.
