Don’t Look Down (2018). The hypocrisy and the small or big fascism we hide inside are the subjects of the powerful anti-fascist project. THE award winning director Florian Henkel von Donnersmark (The Lives of Others, The Tourist) directs it Sebastian Koch in a story with the Second World War as its starting point, to tell the events of three decades of history and artistic creation. The script is inspired by the life and work of the famous German painter Gerhard Richter.

The story describes the life of a young art student, Kurt (Tom Schilling), who falls in love with Ellie (Paula Burr), another student. Her father, Professor (Sebastian Koch), a famous doctor, rejects his daughter’s choice and vows to destroy their relationship. What no one knows is that her life is already intertwined with a dark family secret.

Sebastian Koch plays a Nazi doctor who tries to destroy his daughter’s relationship with an up-and-coming artist. He has said about his role: “My character is a Nazi who saw the fall of this idealism. Then he got a job in the later systems and his discipline, intelligence and training made him important. These talents helped him to hide his guilt and save his life.”
