Kozhikode: Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, a high-ranking member of the Muslim League, said that the Muslim League is a movement that has always stood with the great scholars and if any attempt is made to create a rift in the community, it will not happen. He was inaugurating the Muslim League Waqf protection rally at Kozhikode beach.

League waqf protection rally in protest
Kozhikode: A rally organized by the state committee of the Muslim League against the action taken by the Waqf appointment to PSC ended the sea of protest on the beach. Tens of thousands flocked from various districts in Malabari for the biggest public event in the city since the Kovid closure. Speeches from the venue where the entire Panakkad family members lined up filled the ranks with excitement. White guards and activists in charge of green-clad controls struggled to contain the overcrowding.
PMA Salami, who is also the General Convener of the welcome group, delivered the welcome address by naming all the dignitaries present on the occasion. It was rumored in the announcements that this was a rare gathering of the entire Panakkad family and all the important leaders including the presidents of the 14 districts had come to Kozhikode. Activists had started arriving in the city from 3 pm. They came ashore in small processions. Youngsters on bikes hoisted green flags and roamed the beach. Activists chanted anti-government and anti-Chief slogan slogans and marched through the city streets, gathering like human beings on the beach. Traffic was light at this time of night on the beach. Leaders also took to the stage to point out the activists who had staged a huge protest.
