During an intimate performance held this week in London for several hundred fans, the artist and creator Ed Sheeran removed the shields and burst into tears several times in front of the audience.

According to the report in the British “Sun”, the performance took place on Tuesday for donors to a charity organization, when the participants of the show were asked not to record it and their phones were taken before the start of the performance.

Sheeran burst into tears, according to the tabloid, twice – when he spoke and told the audience about his close friend Jamal Edwards who died earlier this year of a heart attack.

He apologized to the audience that came to the concert for crying and said it was part of his grieving process.

One of the participants in the concert told “The Sun”: “It was an incredibly special evening. The atmosphere was very emotional and there were many tears. To see someone as famous as Ed release his defenses like that – it was truly a once in a lifetime moment.”

At the concert, Sheeran performed eight of his new songs and said that he will release a new album next year.
