A minister’s comment on controlling the population of Pakistan has sparked controversy.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has become the talk of social media this week with his comments on population growth during a press conference.
A video shared on Twitter by journalist Naila Inayat has created controversy. In that video, Khawaja Asif said that in Pakistan, couples should not have intercourse after 8 o’clock to have a child. He said that any country where there are no shops after 8 o’clock is underpopulated.

Many people are expressing their opinions on Twitter. One said, “This is a wonderful discovery by the research of the Government of Pakistan. It is the contribution of a genius to humanity. He had posted that they should be given the highest award of the scientific research field in the world.
The timings of marriage halls and markets across the country are limited to 10 pm and 8:30 pm respectively. The project will transform the entire lifestyle and habits of the nation and save Rs 60 billion.
Pakistan’s energy needs are mostly met by crude oil imported from abroad. The country is forced to conserve energy as it does not need to spend US dollars on oil imports.
The country is in the midst of an economic crisis amid its ongoing struggle to repay foreign debts due to low growth, high inflation and poor foreign reserves. This speech of the minister has created controversy at the global level.
