Don’t worry about grading the fruit!| Dinamalar

We have read of Indian products being sent back from overseas due to poor quality.

Zentron Labs, a Bengaluru-based start-up company that has been researching how to do this and improve benchmarking, has come up with a number of new benchmarking tools.

For agricultural produce…

The company automates manual and manual grading work processes. Grading is done by an innovative machine that uses technical cameras and automatic optical inspection.

Called ‘HardiChart’, it is a multi-purpose technology product. The fruits go through an inspection line equipped with a computer vision-based grading station. As it goes along, it examines each fruit in detail, to varying degrees.

Fruits are classified into different grades based on color, size, weight and defects.

How does it separate?

Fruit grading machine ‘FruiTron’ automates fruit grading with high accuracy and high efficiency. Inspects surface defects of fruit, determines color, determines shape, and measures weight.

You can see how the machine works at https://zentronlabs.com/systems/optical-fruit-grading-and-sorting-machine/.

Currently, it is designed to grade apples, oranges, quinoa, mangoes, pomegranates, pears and round fruits.

Proper grading of fruits prevents spread of defects / rot to other fruits during storage in cold rooms. It is prevented from rotting on long distance journeys. Website: www.zentronlabs.com
