Doral today (Tuesday) received a license to supply electricity from the Electricity Authority. Upon receipt of the license, the company intends to promote its activities in the field of electricity supply, so that in the future it will sell clean electricity in the wholesale and private market, produced from renewable energies in the facilities it owns.
The regulation was published as part of a gradual process of transition to a competitive and efficient electricity market in Israel, while reducing the regulatory burden and emphasizing a significant combination of renewable energies. The opening of the electricity supply segment to competition is a significant step in the Israeli electricity economy and is expected to affect many electricity consumers who until now could not choose who would supply electricity for them.
As a leading entrepreneurial company in the field of renewable energies, which has many production facilities and long-term agreements with about 230 kibbutzim across the country, Doral has a significant advantage in that it can both produce and supply green and non-polluting electricity to consumers. Subject to a decision and regulation on the subject, Doral will, for the first time, be able to offer consumers directly packages based on electricity produced from renewable energies, which will allow consumers to take an active part in the transition from polluting fuels to renewable energies.
